Reading & Leeds has announced Transgressive’s 15th anniversary late night takeover

Reading & Leeds has announced Transgressive’s 15th-anniversary late-night takeover.

Taking over the Alternative Stage on Friday night in Reading, and Saturday and Sunday in Leeds, they’ll host exclusive live sets, DJ slots and more from 9.30pm until late.

Taking part are Mystery Jets (live), Let’s Eat Grandma (live) and Circa Waves (DJs), as well as BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Steel Banglez, and a Beyonce vs Drake DJ party.

Transgressive co-founder Toby L comments: "To mark our 15th birthday year, we are now able to announce our return to Reading & Leeds, the ultimate climax to the summer. We've pushed the boat out this year, bringing Transgressive alumni Mystery Jets and Circa Waves along for the weekend, not to mention current stars Let's Eat Grandma.

“We've also gone big on the Sunday, to ensure the party doesn't slow down - Steel Banglez is one of the biggest pop crossover names of recent times and will keep things moving right until the bitter end. And what the hell, we're also going to throw a Beyonce versus Drake set straight afterwards, just two sets of DJs and hosts/MC’s dishing out the biggest jams from their respective catalogues. Bring on the August Bank Holiday weekend."

'FYI', the Friday night at Reading is set to feature "unmissable DJs, pitted against each other in who can get the biggest sing-alongs". Clearly, these people are terrified of Dork and the possibility we'll play 'Chelsea Dagger' at someone after a few fizzy pops. Sorry. Not sorry.

Reading & Leeds will take place from 23rd-25th August, with headline sets from Twenty One Pilots, The 1975, Post Malone and Foo Fighters.

Tones And I: Top of the Pops

Tones And I is a name that has taken over radio airwaves since unexpected smash ‘Dance Monkey’ flew to the Number 1 spot around the world, and stuck there for bloody ages. However quick it felt for, well, everyone - for Aussie popster Toni Watson her journey from the busking unknown was really somethin’ else.
