‘Hang’ isn’t just an album - it’s a universe of weird and wonderful delights.

Label: Jagjaguwar
Released: 20th January 2017
Rating: ★★★★

Time is a weird and wonderful thing. Even if Foxygen’s new album ‘Hang’ is a brief affair, coming in at just over half an hour, it doesn’t mean they’ve not managed to cram it full to bursting with glorious ideas. Working with the Lemon Twigs’ equally ambitious D’Addario brothers, it’s hard to think of a better match up.

Take ‘Follow The Leader’. Strings stab, vocals swoon - there’s a timeless quality that refuses to feel dated. A strutting confidence in skinny fits and high boots, inhabiting a world of sequins and sunbursts. ‘Hang’ isn’t just an album - it’s a universe of weird and wonderful delights. Christopher Jones
