The Decemberists are going to release a new EP just in time for Christmas

The Decemberists have announced a new EP.

'Traveling On' features five offcuts from the sessions for their latest album, 'I'll Be Your Girl’, released earlier this year. It’ll arrive digitally on 14th December, with a 10” vinyl out from 21st December.

The band explain: “Perhaps other bands would be content to rest on the laurels of another successful record released, another romp about the globe put to bed - BUT NOT THE DECEMBERISTS.

“No, folks, we have one last thing we’d like to impart to you before we go into our deserved siesta: We are announcing the 'Traveling On EP'!

“This little bugger is a sharp twenty-one minutes of songs that were recorded during the 'I’ll Be Your Girl' sessions but never quite found a home on the album those sessions produced.”

The track listing reads:

1. Down On The Knuckle
2. I Will Not Say Your Name
3. Tripping Along (Full Band Version)
4. Midlist Author
5. Traveling On

The Murder Capital: More is less

The Murder Capital are a band that arrived with expectation. Before their first track dropped, word of mouth had already begun to spread about five men from Dublin kicking up a fuss.

Feelin' hypersonic: Sam Fender

Sam Fender is a man on a mission. Already beating current ‘biggest noise on the block’ Lewis Capaldi to a Brit Award, as his debut album nears its much-anticipated arrival, the sky really is the limit for an artist not short of stuff to say.

Friendly Fires: Can't wait forever

It’s over eight years since Friendly Fires released their last album, but - after a prolonged period away - they’re finally back on the dancefloor with the shimmering ‘Inflorescent’.
