Sam Fender is going to perform a headliner at Newcastle's new socially-distanced outdoor arena

Sam Fender is going to perform a headline show at Newcastle's new socially-distanced outdoor arena.

The Virgin Money Unity Arena, located at Newcastle Racecourse, Gosforth Park, will host events all across the summer, boasting a line-up of "first-class live music, entertainment and comedy", including Two Door Cinema Club, Supergrass and Tom Grennan. Sam's set will take place on 13th August, opening the run of dates.

"Am absolutely buzzing for this," he says, "getting the band and crew back together for probably our only gig of the year. Apparently this is the first socially distanced show of its kind and it’s amazing to see the north east leading the way, it’s huge for the area. There’s a few hundred platforms with 5 people on each. Grab a few mates and let’s have a platform party!! We’re going to play a couple of brand new tunes too.”

Tickets will go on general sale from 9am on Friday, 31st July.
