James Blake has announced a brand new covers EP, helpfully titled… ‘Covers EP’

Recorded during lockdown and following on from his string of fan-requested covers over on the ‘ol social media, the EP sees James collate a range of those covers for a new release - including a recent cover of Frank Ocean’s ‘Godspeed’

Speaking about the collection, James said: “One of the things keeping me going mentally throughout lockdown has been the requests from fans for different covers and performing them on Instagram. It’s been a joy to discover new music and new ways of playing songs I’ve already heard. I might even throw in a surprise that no one has heard me play on socials before. I’m excited to share it with people.”

To mark the news, James Blake took to US telly for a special performance of one of those new covers, giving a new spin to Roberta Flack’s classic ‘The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face’. Check it out below:
