Check out Ezra Furman's new video for 'I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend"

Ezra Furman has shared a brand new video for current single 'I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend'.

Taken from his forthcoming album 'Twelve Nudes', he describes it as "a romantic song of transgender longing".

"It’s another entry in my series of ‘I Wanna’ songs (in the tradition of the Ramones)," he continues. "I thought it was time we had an ‘Earth Angel’ for the queers. Of course because it’s an Ezra Furman tune, there’s a little bit of desperation, religion and body-talk.”

Talking about the video, director Alix Spence says: “For me, I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend is a music video about externalising the internal. Listening to the song and speaking with Ezra, I saw our two dancers, Brandon Mathis and Jobel Medina, as physical manifestations of internal suffering. I wanted to literally have us wrestle with ourselves and the complexities of our personal struggles.”

Featuring choreography from Sarah Prinz and costumes by Britton Litow, you can check out the video for 'I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend' below.

That's not all, though. Our Ez (as nobody is calling him - Ed) has dropped A SECOND NEW TRACK. Titled 'Evening Prayer', you can check that out below.

He describes it as “our rallying cry. We music fans go to shows for transcendence; it’s like being called to prayer. But as Abraham Heschel said, “Prayer is meaningless unless it is subversive, unless it seeks to overthrow and to ruin the pyramids of callousness, hatred, opportunism and falsehood.” I want all our fans to become activists. We punk fans have so much energy to give to the fight against injustice, i.e. the abuse of the poor by the rich, i.e. climate change. So this is one to get you in the mood.”

So there we go.

'Twelve Nudes' is set to arrive on 23rd August.

The Murder Capital: More is less

The Murder Capital: More is less

The Murder Capital are a band that arrived with expectation. Before their first track dropped, word of mouth had already begun to spread about five men from Dublin kicking up a fuss.

Feelin' hypersonic: Sam Fender

Sam Fender is a man on a mission. Already beating current ‘biggest noise on the block’ Lewis Capaldi to a Brit Award, as his debut album nears its much-anticipated arrival, the sky really is the limit for an artist not short of stuff to say.

Friendly Fires: Can't wait forever

It’s over eight years since Friendly Fires released their last album, but - after a prolonged period away - they’re finally back on the dancefloor with the shimmering ‘Inflorescent’.
