Honey Lung's favourite bands from New York playlist, feat. Sonic Youth, LCD Soundsystem and more

Honey Lung are stuck at home like everyone else at the moment, but earlier this year they were lucky enough to get in a quick trip to New York for a bunch of shows, including New Colossus Festival. To celebrate their brief foray - and ahead of their performance for Homeschool this weekend - they've put together a playlist of their fave NY bands.

"We've just had the good fortune of playing a week of shows this month at the New Colossus Festival, New York City," they explain. "It was our first time out there as a band and we just felt the magic of the place come out of every venue and street we hung out on. We put this playlist together to pick some of our favourite musicians from the city who've inspired us.

"Kanine Records, who released our early recordings compilation, were really kind to us at the festival and they're such a big part of the Brooklyn scene, so we've included some of our amazing New York-based labelmates on it too. It's such a weird time for everyone right now, musicians included, but these tunes bring back some good memories."

Honey Lung's new EP 'Post Modern Motorcade Music' is out 29th May. They're taking part in new online festival Homeschool, which runs from 8th-10th May - visit homeschoolfest.com for details.
