Getting to know... Willie J Healey
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]22 year-old Oxford-native Willie J Healey is going places. After two EPs last year (‘Malibu’ and ‘Saturday Night Feeling’), he’s just dropped a brand new single ‘Pipedreams’. With a video featuring a day in the life of 60-year-old skater and notorious anarchist Neal ‘The Dude’ Unger, we figured it was time we got to know him better.

Hello Willie J Healey. How are you, and what are we interrupting?
Hi Dork, I'm fine thanks. You interrupted nothing so no hard feelings.

Apparently your debut album is going to be out next year - how far into it are you?
So I'm told, all of the songs are written and recorded roughly, so I'm just working may way back through the demos and picking my favourites really.

On a scale of 1 - 10, how tough are you finding it?
I would say so far it's been pretty easy. Maybe I need to challenge myself more! The hard bit for me is getting everyone to hear the stuff I'm creating.

Do you know what the album’s going to be about yet?
That would be telling… Snitches get stitches.

How did you end up signing your current record deal?
Well it took a while, but I had been working with the people involved in the label on a few of my earlier EPs. They were into my stuff so we just made it official.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="2/3
[vc_column_text]What has been the highlight of your musical career so far?
A highlight for me and the gang would probably be the latest tour we did supporting Beach Baby. It was really fun. They’re nice peeps.

What do you think is the best song you’ve ever written?
Well I'm not sure what my best song is, but my favourite would have to be a newish one called 'All Those Things'. It hasn't been released yet.

What do you do for fun?
I like the cinema but would probably say I have most of my fun while playing music.

What’s the most exciting thing you have planned for over the summer?
No real plans yet. Plans aren't really my strong point.

Anything else we should know?
Well I'm pretty excited for people to hear some of the new stuff I'm working on, I suppose that's something you should know.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3
