The Vaccines - All My Friends Are Falling In Love
Published: 8:23 pm, November 15, 2018Words: Martyn Young.

The killer non-album single used to be a staple of all the British beat groups that emerged in the wake of The Beatles in the 60s. The Vaccines might be our closest relatives to that sound today and ‘All My Friends Are Falling In Love’ is a non-album chunk of pure gold in that classic mould.

There are so many brilliant parts here it’s hard to know where to start. What about that rollicking acoustic intro? What about Justin Young’s gloriously exuberant vocals in the chorus? What about that insanely catchy piano in the chorus? It’s all here.

Long-term Vaccines followers will be familiar with the song following their summer festival appearances, and the recorded version is a welcome euphoric shot in the arm in the dark of autumn. Oh, and that fuzzy guitar hook at the end is irresistible.
