Phoenix - Goodbye Soleil

Nobody does it better.

Nobody does it better.

You know a band has reached a certain level when their sound becomes instantly recognisable, and there are few more identifiable than Phoenix. As summer starts to raise it’s head, the french popsters may be waving goodbye to the sun, but what they say in words they defy in their vibe.

‘Goodbye Soleil’ isn’t a track to usher in the darker, damper days. Instead it’s a shimmering sunset vista, all laid back leisure and temperate climes. A smart casual half bottle of wine on the Monaco sea front, if it was any more relaxed it would be horizontal.

So yeah, sure, Phoenix have their thing going on, but there’s a reason for that. Nobody does it better.
