You’ve heard a lot lately about the state of clubland and live venues in the UK. It’s something documented on every music site, in every national paper and talked about on every social media channel. Yet whilst the number of venues may sit as a cause for concern, the sound of it is certainly not in any jeopardy - especially if it’s in the hands of Nimmo. After releasing track after track of euphoric late-night party starters, managing to capture their mind-shifting live show perfectly, ‘Dancing Makes Us Brave’ is a crisp slice of electro goodness. And it’s exactly what we need.

Built over a throbbing synth and bass line, the love torn sounds of Nimmo once again find new life within the dance floor surroundings they coat themselves in. Yet with ‘Dancing Makes Us Brave’ there’s an added level of intention, the exact moment when a band knows what they want and are ready to kick on and reach it. It’s a hands in the air moment of clarity at 3am, captured and served in an undeniably smooth package, managing to capture the emotions, sounds and moments of life after the bell strikes midnight.

Nimmo have been shaking the floors for a while now, but with ‘Dancing Makes Us Brave’, they’ve taken the whole house by storm. Just make sure you’re checked in for this, it’s going to be a huge 2017. Jamie Muir
