She’s back.

Banger

She’s back. Two words that need no further explanation, if our precious pop scene has an all star cast, no episode would be complete without Lily Allen’s caustic lilt.

Kicked off by Giggs, there’s little doubt as to who’s ‘Trigger Bang’’s headline act. Throwing out near literal lyrical bullets with a lazy flick of the wrist, Lily’s ability to make a track feel both exciting and familiar in an instant remains untamed. Never ducking a punch, the dark remains punctuated by moments of domestic flair and sneering glamour. “I never got home for Neighbours,” one line recalls. It’s hard to imagine more effective damnation of drugs, right?

More than a decade on from ‘Alright, Still’, many have tried to copy her style, but not one has got close to pulling it off. Returning to an increasingly chaotic world, Lily Allen feels more important than ever before.

Tones And I is a name that has taken over radio airwaves since unexpected smash ‘Dance Monkey’ flew to the Number 1 spot around the world. For Aussie popster Toni Watson, the journey from the busking unknown was really somethin’ else.
