Sometimes a band come along who truly defy explanation. It’d be unfair to attempt to describe the ins and outs of why HMLTD have become one of the most eye-catching bands of recent months. It’d be unfair to try to explain the sheer scope of influence and ambition that radiates and glistens from the very surface of everything they do. Sometimes, it’s best to lay it out exactly as you see it - HMLTD are a band unafraid of description, but one that truly find their own in becoming your next favourite obsession.

With ‘To The Door’ they have their genre-defying gallop to the top of the mountain, a smorgasbord of highs that sound like a Quentin Tarantino-Western if everyone got stuck in space and was forced to confront their own thoughts. Drenched in the theatrical, it’s the sound of a band unafraid to paint their own vision of the world around them, one full of sheer unpredictability yet ripping with immediate euphoria.

HMLTD are a band that need to be experienced in 2017 - and one that words simply will never do justice do. Best thing to do? Plug in and get ready, sometimes we just need to let music do its magic and ask questions later. Jamie Muir
