HMLTD – Pictures of You
Published: 8:40 am, June 12, 2018

HMLTD have spent the majority of their existence cementing themselves as fetish-club equivalents to the dishwater dull of the mainstream, a band that seek to exist outside of whatever most music is doing at any one time.

New single ‘Pictures of You’ doesn’t make much of an attempt to buck that trend, revelling in sex and sleaze, the title acting as a repeated refrain that holds the whole aural burlesque show together.

The band aren’t standing still though, ‘Pictures of You’ has ingested the gothic and the industrial, spitting the influences back in their own inimitable style. There are echoes of Bauhaus and even Depeche Mode sneaking in at the edges, but you’d be hard pressed to mistake the finished article for anything other than a HMLTD track.

‘Pictures of You’ is fetish pop given a fresh coat of lipstick for the modern era. It’s also a 100% certified banger.
