First Aid Kit – Ruins

A morose tale of contemplation and emotional loss.

A morose tale of contemplation and emotional loss.

If recent singles have seen First Aid Kit showing off their expanded palette, then new track ‘Ruins' strips them back to their most sparse. A gently plucked guitar from Klara accompanies an insistent melody and a morose tale of contemplation and emotional loss.

Johanna's trademark harmonies and some tasteful strings elevate First Aid Kit above the ‘Ruins', viewing their mistakes from a distance and looking to learn and move ahead.

The title track from their new album, there's plenty more heartbreak and reconciliation to come from the Söderberg sisters in 2018. But for now, enjoy this solemn song, and have a deep think about love and life and other heavy stuff. Dillon Eastoe Dillon Eastoe
