So you’ve been struggling with PC Music? Not seeing what the fuss was all about? Maybe this latest cut will help you understand.

Danny L Harle has teamed up with Chairlift’s Caroline Polachek for ‘Ashes of Love’, and the results are pretty damn spectacular. There’s the usual sort-of-cheesy, sort-of-glitchy PC Music feel to the music, but with Polachek’s instantly identifiable vocal it takes on a new guise. Closer to conforming, perhaps, but certainly not sat on safe ground, it’s an evolution to build on.

“In 2001-2002 I hung out with crew of boys who tuned cars for street racing, and we listened to happy hardcore and trance,” Polachek explains. “I got to sort of relive those memories while writing ‘Ashes of Love’.”

Nailed it.

'Ashes of Love' is out on 6th May via PC Music and Sony.
